Sheffield United vulnerable as Leeds United ready Jayden Bogle transfer now
Sheffield United are vulnerable as Leeds United ready a move to sign Jayden Bogle this summer, according to The Star.
The local newspaper reported on its website (13 July) that as Bogle enters the final year of his contract at Bramall Lane, the Blades are vulnerable to interest from the Whites for their right-back [Mike McGrath, 13 July].
Bogle had already signed a one-year extension with Sheffield United but could leave the club on a free transfer in 12 months, leaving them with only a potential compensation fee.

When it comes to signing right-backs under the stewardship of Daniel Farke, the Whites have a clear profile of player they tend to lean on – those who have won promotion from the Championship before.
Sam Byram’s successful return to the club came after being part of Farke’s own promotion-winning Norwich City squad in 2021, while two other arrivals had similar stories too [LUFC, 7 June].

Unlike Byram, who was injured for the entirety of the 2020/21 season, Djed Spence and Connor Roberts both played key roles in their respective sides’ successful campaigns in 2022 and 2023 respectively.
While Spence’s loan move for the first half of last season was a failure, Roberts did make an impact during his injury-hit temporary spell in the second portion of the campaign.
A return for Roberts – with his parent club Burnley relegated last season – looks unlikely, and thus pursuing Bogle, who also went up with the Blades in 2023, is a sensible move as Farke looks to build a promotion-winning squad of his own at Elland Road [The Athletic, 13 June].
