Joe Rodon is nearing a return from his serious injury at Leeds United.

The Wales international was forced off in the 1-1 draw against Brentford earlier in the season at Elland Road.

Daniel Farke confirmed that it was a hamstring injury, likely picked up in a high-intensity sprint.

Rodon also suffered a serious injury last season, and has not had much luck around his fitness in recent months.

With the extended international break here, while fans don't like it, it does offer added time for player recovery.

Rodon wasn't called upon by Wales, of course, and MOT Leeds News has looked into his possible return date.

What did Daniel Farke say about Joe Rodon injury?

Speaking at the start of September, Farke suggested that the defender could miss games after the break.

Confirming an expected timeline of eight-to-10 weeks out, it wasn't a quick recovery for Rodon.

But, he has been known to recover quickly from his injuries.

Leeds return to Premier League action on 10 October, with the toughest trip of them all to take on Arsenal at the Emirates.

Eight weeks from the Brentford game would take Rodon to 25 October.

Could Joe Rodon return quicker?

It's definitely possible.

He's done it before, and with worse cover behind him last season.

Leeds have recruited well, and both Nico Elvedi and James Justin have stepped up in that back three.

Especially looking at Justin on the right of that, with that role maybe known more for its attacking responsibilities than its defensive under Farke.

Tarik Muharemovic has been sensational since signing, which has also left Jaka Bijol on the bench while Rodon is injured.

Ben Dinnery, an injury expert, has shared on his own website that Rodon could return on 18 October if things go well.

That is a huge day at Elland Road.

Leeds welcome Manchester United to LS11, and will look to make it consecutive wins over their fierce rivals after that famous victory at Old Trafford last time.
