What's next for Leeds United after Harry Wilson as transfer made official
Leeds United will refocus their attention elsewhere after making Harry Wilson's move permanent.
The Whites officially confirmed and announced the arrival of the Welsh international on Wednesday.
Wilson agreed to join Leeds upon the expiry of his contract with Fulham and has joined the club for free on a four-year deal.
Daniel Farke made it clear that he wanted a left-footed right-winger this summer, and to get a player of this quality will be a huge boost for the German head coach.
One of Farke's boxes has now been ticked off this summer, though the Whites are still in phase one of their transfer plans.
Leeds will look to make more signings before the end of the World Cup, and there are a couple of players who could soon join Wilson at Elland Road.
What's next for Leeds after Harry Wilson?
Leeds fought off Champions League competition to sign Wilson, with Aston Villa having previously been heavily linked with the forward.
The 29-year-old is likely to go straight into Farke's starting eleven plans, but there are other areas the boss wants to upgrade first before he starts thinking about a team to face Nottingham Forest on the opening day.
Leeds have been in pursuit of Southampton's Shea Charles and have had three reported bids all rejected for the Northern Ireland international.
The Saints are said to be holding out for a fee in the region of £30million, which is currently the difference separating the two sides in talks at the moment.
Farke wants a new midfielder to play next to Ethan Ampadu, but there have also been suggestions that Charles' versatility could see him play on the right-side of defence, if needed.
With Wilson's signing now confirmed, Charles is the most likely next target.
But it's not just him, as the Whites are still trying to agree a deal to sign Parma goalkeeper Zion Suzuki.
The Serie A outfit are said to value the shot-stopper at £30m but the 49ers have been preparing a bid of over £20m.
Suzuki is one keeper Leeds want to bring in, as keeping Karl Darlow is also on the agenda.
The wildcard Leeds could sign for nothing
Leeds have a two-part transfer plan this summer, with one period of business to be completed during the World Cup, and another frenzy expected after it concludes later this month.
The tournament ends on 19 July, when pre-season preparations will already be underway.
Julian Brandt is another man linked to Elland Road after his deal with Borussia Dortmund expired.
Though the German doesn't fit any of Farke's specifically outlined needs this summer, Paraag Marathe understands how useful the free agent market will be once again.
Brandt was last spotted at a Real Betis complex, but it's understood that he will not be joining the Spanish side.
The 30-year-old could be someone Leeds see to further down the line, with the attacking midfielder said to be shopping around patiently for his next move.
