Leeds United already busy again as James Trafford transfer finally close

Leeds United fans rejoiced as James Trafford finally completed his medical after days of silence.

Trafford is closing on his £40million-plus record move to Leeds from Manchester City, with final details left.

Daniel Farke has upgraded his squad massively again, after the signings of Tarik Muharemovic and Harry Wilson.

Leeds aren't done there, either.

There are several holes still in the wider squad, as the Whites look to push up the Premier League table again.

So, who is next to come after Trafford?

Next Leeds United transfer expected already

Trafford was the number one target all summer, regardless of links to other goalkeepers.

It was the hardest to complete, too, with Zion Suzuki of Parma another name that refused to go away in Italy.

But, Leeds are getting their man in Trafford.

Now, Zinny Boswell has reported that Leeds are ready to sanction a loan-to-buy exit for Lucas Perri to join Torino.

After that, Sky Sports say that another goalkeeper is "expected" to sign and act as number two behind Trafford.

Who else do Leeds United want?

It's clear where Farke and the 49ers want to invest and strengthen this squad for another year in the Premier League.

Another left-back is wanted after Gabriel Gudmundsson's latest hamstring injury, with a central defender also possible.

That would add sufficient depth at the back, with another attacking option also targeted in LS11.

As for immediate new starters, Trafford may actually be the last signed, with genuine quality wanted to rotate throughout the season.

Noah Okafor has returned to pre-season training, and he will be expected to start the season again if he continues where he left off.

What's been great has been the upgrades that are being signed, though.

Wilson starts over Brenden Aaronson, Trafford is a huge jump from Karl Darlow, and fans prefer Muharemovic to Pascal Struijk already.

Then, the likes of Ethan Ampadu and Dominic Calvert-Lewin are only getting better in pre-season ahead of another year of Premier League football.

After Trafford, the level of name may drop slightly, but whoever signs will be as important for Farke as he looks to reach that next level.
