Leeds United told to hire Sam Allardyce permanently by Sky Sports pundit as ‘funds’ available at Elland Road
We’re delighted to welcome former England goalkeeper Paul Robinson as our exclusive columnist as each week he’ll be giving his views on the biggest talking points at Leeds United…
Paul Robinson would like to see Sam Allardyce given the Leeds United job for the upcoming 2023/24 Championship season.
The Whites fell back into the second tier on Sunday just three years after they ended their 16-year exodus from the Premier League.
A decision has yet to be made on Allardyce’s future and Robinson believes, with available funds, the 68-year-old could mastermind an immediate return to the top flight.

“Give him a shot in the Championship,” Robinson exclusively told MOT Leeds News.
“That will divide a lot of opinion amongst Leeds fans, I know it will. Leeds have got to get out of the Championship. Allardyce has got a reputation for the way he plays but he can do different things with better players.
“It may not be pretty, but it’s a Championship season, and results are vitally important. Unless you can find the next Vincent Kompany, who did unbelievable things with Burnley last year.

“They could do a lot worse than giving Allardyce a shot at it for a year.
“He’s not going to get a Premier League job, he has a club the size of Leeds United with a takeover imminent and the ability to go at the transfer market with some funds.
“I wouldn’t be against it, I think he could get us out of the Championship but I know it would divide opinion amongst Leeds fans because we’ve gone from Bielsa to Big Sam in 18 months. That’s completely true.”
In other Leeds United news, the Whites want to sign one 13-goal forward this summer after an impressive European season.
