Leeds United secured a massive 4-1 win over Newcastle United on Monday.

There was a feeling moving into this encounter that the Whites had to right the wrongs of defeat at Chelsea.

Throwing away victory to lose 6-3 wasn't good enough, but boy did they make up for it.

A Lewis Miley own goal and a mixture of Jayden Bogle and Dominic Calvert-Lewin made it 2-0 before the latter netted just before the break to put his side three to the good.

It only got better in the second half when Noah Okafor found the net with an unorthodox strike into the far corner.

Bazoumana Toure scored late for the away side, but Leeds deserved everything they got against Newcastle as we now assess each player's performance.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin just gets better for Leeds United

There were reservations when the number nine came through the doors at Thorp Arch last summer.

Those opinions have totally vanished as he continues to be a constant source of goals in Yorkshire.

He grabbed another against Newcastle and picked up an assist as what he thought was his first goal was awarded to Bogle.

Outside of that, his performance was pretty exemplary as he put his body about and made it a hellish night for the travelling defenders.

The only thing that maybe let him down was his yellow card that meant he had to hold back somewhat in the second half.

James Trafford nearly blew it vs Newcastle United

Leeds won and did so convincingly, but it could have been so different.

The first half was so nearly a solo mission from James Trafford to throw the game away.

The 23-year-old was so nearly caught in possession twice by Yoane Wissa as he took too long to get his pass away.

That added an early edge around Elland Road as there was a nervousness when he got on the ball.

That action will get caught out sooner or later if he doesn't cut it out.

Trafford did have an easy night for the most part, but must do better in those situations.
