Why Leeds United are happy to wait for Julian Brandt transfer with more business left to complete
Leeds United are still waiting to hear back about their pursuit over Julian Brandt.
The German playmaker joining would be a true showing of ambition from the Whites, with Brandt holding plenty of pedigree in football.
Leeds have been fairly active in this transfer window. Harry Wilson and Tarik Muharemovic have been confirmed as signings.
Daniel Farke's are also inching closer to sealing a move for goalkeeper James Trafford, solving perhaps one of their biggest issues.
Brandt is currently a free agent and would be a free transfer for the Elland Road side adding even more quality to the squad.
And the latest status of their push for the German has been shared.
Are Leeds currently focusing on Julian Brandt?
With Trafford set to sign for Leeds, many may have felt that focus would be on getting Brandt over the line.
But the LS11 side are set to continue their business elsewhere in the market.
After MOT Leeds News reported that a Leeds contract offer was tabled for Brandt, journalist Graham Smyth has shared that there has been "no movement" on the Brandt front.
But the Yorkshire Evening Post reporter has stated that with Brandt being a "market opportunity", the Whites are likely to be willing to push on with other deals as they await an answer.
Brandt is keen on a move to the Premier League but also has an offer from Ajax on the table as well.
So, for now, there is no reason to panic as it will simply be a waiting game with the Whites already doing all they could as things stand.
What's next for Leeds after James Trafford?
Based on the reports that have been emerging, a new striker looks to be next on the Whites' shortlist.
Leeds links to Levante forward Carlos Espi have recently emerged, but he is not the only striker.
Italian Nicolo Tresoldi is one to watch for Leeds this summer as they eye a back-up to Dominic Calvert-Lewin.
The addition of a new centre-forward is likely to cause a domino effect within the squad as well.
Joel Piroe has been earmarked for an exit for quite some time and perhaps the Elland Road side are awaiting to get a replacement through the door first.
With the Premier League season not too far away from beginning, we could now start to see more movement from an exits point of view.
