Leeds United are still well in conversation over a move for Julian Brandt, with a contract offer now being mulled over.

The former Borussia Dortmund star is currently out of contract as he mulls over his next career move.

Harry Wilson and Tarik Muharemovic have already come through the doors at Elland Road this summer, with James Trafford looking likely to be next.

And the arrival of Brandt would bring an added air of optimism heading into the new campaign.

For weeks, fans have been awaiting to hear updates on how far advanced the Whites are with the German.

And now it looks like a contract offer is finally on the table, with just a month before the season begins.

What contract proposal have Leeds offered to Julian Brandt?

A move Brandt would be a massive showing of ambition from the LS11 outfit.

MOT Leeds News has been reporting on Leeds' interest including the fact Brandt's father was recently spotted at Thorp Arch.

Just two years ago, the German was lining out in a Champions League final for Borussia Dortmund against Real Madrid.

Now, it seems like the Whites are pushing forward to try and close the deal for the midfielder.

According to Sky Sports journalist Luca Bendoni via X on Saturday afternoon, the Whites have put a three-year contract proposal on the table for the German.

It shows the lengths Leeds are willing to go to sign Brandt, with that considered a long deal for a player aged 33 come the end of it.

Additionally, it has been said that the attacking midfielder is "fascinated" about the opportunity to compete in the Premier League.

And that is amid offers from within Serie A as well as from Ajax.

But that fascination may very well end up handing Daniel Farke's side all the advantage in the race.

What makes Brandt a special signing for Leeds?

Brandt is an experienced midfielder and, at 30 years old, still has many years at the top level.

When the playmaker began his career at Bayer Leverkusen, it did not take him long to become part of the Bundesliga side's history.

At 21 years, three months and 25 days old, Brandt became the youngest ever player to hit 100 appearances for Leverkusen.

Additionally, he is the third youngest ever player to reach 300 appearances in the German top flight.

With those records to his name, it only shows the type of pedigree that he brings with him, having pretty much had it throughout his whole career.

Now, Leeds supporters will need to await the response from the German to the contract proposal.
