What James Trafford's arrival means for Lucas Perri's exit from Leeds as news emerges out of Italy

Leeds United's goalkeeper business is heating up with Lucas Perri now looking to complete a move to Italy.

The future of the Brazilian has been tightly knitted to the signing of James Trafford at Elland Road.

Daniel Farke's side are now nearing the completion of the deal to bring the Englishman to LS11.

Trafford has completed his Leeds medical and for Perri, movement on his exit is now expected.

Torino have been eyeing to take the out of favour shot-stopper for the upcoming season.

And now amid the deal for Trafford drawing close, an update has emerged on Perri's future.

What is the latest on Lucas Perri's Leeds future?

Perri's days at Elland Road are coming to an end amid strong interest from Torino.

According to Sky Sports journalist Gianluca Di Marzio, Perri's prospective move to Torino is now in the final stages following Leeds' move for Trafford inching closer.

It has been said that the Serie A outfit simply needs to iron out a few details before the goalkeepers move can be finalised.

Perri would be joining Torino on an initial loan, but the deal does contain an option to buy.

As things stand, no details over a potential price for that option have emerged from that report, but you would expect Leeds to try and ensure they do not make a loss.

Previous suggestions stated Leeds could receive £11.9million for Perri.

The Whites originally paid a fixed fee of £15.6m last summer for the Brazilian.

When the loan expires, Perri's book value would have amortised by £7.8m (£3.9m per year based on four-year contract).

That would mean Leeds require £7.8m in order to avoid a loss on their official books.

Who could Leeds replace Perri with?

At the moment, there have been no concrete links for a back-up goalkeeper, rather we only know who was originally on Leeds' radar.

Zion Suzuki is the highest profile of Leeds' goalkeeper targets and he is extremely unliked to come to Elland Road to play second-fiddle.

However, one option that Farke could turn to is Derby County's Jacob Widell Zetterstrom.

Zetterstrom is available for at least £10million, and even though he would be arriving as second choice, the move would still be a step up.

Making his way from the Championship to the Premier League could be an attractive prospect for the 28-year-old, who may not have many chances to do so.

However, it would remain to be seen if he is willing to sacrifice his game time this season.

Once Trafford is confirmed, it would also not be a surprise to see different options emerge as Leeds' focus shifts.
