How Leeds United can secure Jacob Widell Zetterstrom transfer as Derby County terms emerge
Jacob Widell Zetterstrom could be Leeds United's goalkeeper solution.
The Whites have not had the best of times in the number one market as they still look to bring another shot-stopper in.
Karl Darlow's future continues to be unresolved with no decision over his next club communicated yet.
Daniel Farke is not standing still and awaiting that response with links for Zion Suzuki and Zetterstrom emerging over the last few weeks.
While the former looked to be the priority, recent updates in the market could swing the pendulum back towards Zetterstrom.
And the Whites have been told exactly what could get a deal completed.
How much do Derby County want for Jacob Widell Zetterstrom?
Leeds United need to get a goalkeeper over the line, and the ever-changing saga with Suzuki is not helping.
Other options such as Aaron Ramsdale to Leeds United and interest in James Trafford is there, but the Whites will not want to settle in the hunt for a new number one.
Zetterstrom is certainly one man who could help solve that problem, and interest in the Swede has been rife since his showcases at the World Cup.
According to Derby Telegraph journalist Leigh Curtis, the Rams would find an offer "hard to turn down" if it came in the eight-figure range.
So, if Leeds do want to take Zetterstrom to Elland Road, they have been told the terms of a deal that can get it done - around £10million.
And Derby's movements in the market could hand Leeds all the encouragement they need over a transfer.
What has Zetterstrom said about his future?
When it comes to whether Zetterstrom is opening to a move, the goalkeeper has been keeping his cards close to his chest.
As relayed by Fotboll Transfers via the Ashbourne News Telegraph's print edition, Zetterstrom has said: "I don’t usually pay too much attention to rumours."
"I’ve been in this bubble for a while now, fully focused on the national team, and now I feel like I need to take a few days to relax.”
So, a move for the goalkeeper may need to wait until he has had his break, with his future clearly not something he is focusing on.
But that does not mean the Whites cannot already begin working on the transfer on a club-to-club basis.
Leeds cannot be left panicking in the market for a goalkeeper this summer.
