Sources: Jack Harrison exit close at Leeds United as one final snag remains

Published on

Jack Harrison's Leeds United exit is in the final stages of completion, MOT Leeds News understands.

The 29-year-old has been with Leeds since 2018, but has spent the majority of the past three years out on loan.

Harrison was loaned to Everton for back-to-back campaigns while Leeds were out of the Premier League, before returning last summer.

However, he failed to make much of an impact in the first half of the season and was this time loaned to Fiorentina.

Leeds outcast Harrison is not short of transfer options, with the winger under contract at Elland Road for two more years.

Rather than staying in England, or indeed Europe, it appears a move Stateside is now on the cards.

What's left to do to finalise Jack Harrison exit?

New England Revolution have shown an interest in Harrison, who previously spent time in Major League Soccer with New York City FC.

MOT Leeds News has been told via one source that a deal is effectively already "done".

However, others have indicated there is still the small matter of Harrison's wages to resolve.

The former Manchester City player is believed to be on around £5,850,000 a year at Elland Road right now.

If he is to join the Revs, though, that wage may have to come down by half.

Beyond agreeing a wage structure, the Revs have everything set to sign Harrison.

There is a space open to sign the attacker, who would welcome the chance to play regularly in MLS once again.

Farke last year described Harrison as a "top class" individual for the way he went about adapting to life back at Thorp Arch.

After two years away, he quickly won back the support of his teammates and staff members.

However, supporters were not as quickly won over and Harrison simply did not get going in the first half of last season.

Leeds fans know he is best suited elsewhere, and Harrison will himself know this is probably the best move for his career.
