Why Leeds United exit may be back on for Jack Harrison - teammate can no longer scupper it
Jack Harrison could soon seal a move away from Leeds United that was on the cards in January.
The 29-year-old spent the second half of last season at Fiorentina after a winter switch.
He had made just 13 appearances for the Whites in the first half of the campaign before moving on.
He failed to make a positive impact and certainly wasn't well received back at Elland Road.
That made a move away make total sense, but things could have been different for the winger.
Harrison could now be set to seal an exit from Leeds, but one that can't be stopped in it's tracks.
How Leeds United teammate halted Jack Harrison's LaLiga switch
There was certainly surprise in LS11 when the winger completed a move to Fiorentina in the winter.
He struggled for regular minutes under Daniel Farke, but still landed himself a move to an iconic Italian outfit.
Harrison only made 22 appearances for La Viola, but did still contribute to four goals in all competitions.
Before that move, he could have found himself at Valencia as the Spaniards asked Leeds to green light a move.
Tribuna Deportiva journalist Hector Gomez reported on Thursday that any deal for the Englishman was only possible if Largie Ramazani moved away from the Mestalla, but that never happened.
The Valencia reporter said: "We told you one afternoon about the attempt to bring in Jack Harrison. That happened after Valencia called Leeds to say, 'Look, Ramazani isn't quite working out for us; I'm sending him back, let me have that player named Jack Harrison instead.'
"[Leeds] said: 'Look, we’re going to let Jack Harrison leave. But we have one condition if he’s going to Valencia, or if we’re going to agree to a purchase option for the summer and let him go.
"'That condition is that you find a solution for Largie Ramazani. If you can find somewhere for Ramazani to go, because the coach doesn’t want him here, then we’ll do the deal. But if you can’t find a club for Ramazani, then we won’t let Jack Harrison go to you on loan.'
"They couldn’t find a club for Ramazani. Several teams made enquiries, but that was also when he started scoring goals and getting more involved, so Valencia gradually lost interest in letting Ramazani leave."
It was added that Valencia already have the "information" they need on Harrison, which could imply they will make a fresh move this summer.
Could Harrison now join Valencia?
It feels increasingly likely that the former Manchester City man will be on his way out of Elland Road this summer.
He isn't well-liked by fans and isn't truly at the level required to help his side stay in the Premier League.
The latter could be said of Ramazani, who is now returning to Yorkshire after his loan spell in LaLiga.
With his spell with Valencia now over, it could give the Spanish outfit a perfect chance to get their hands on Harrison.
There is an existing relationship there that could allow Leeds to let the wide man go there this summer.
If they wanted him in January, there is every chance that they reignite their interest moving into the new season.
