Leeds United predicted XI vs Nottingham Forest: Daniel Farke benches star, Harry Wilson starts
Daniel Farke could hand Harry Wilson his official Leeds United debut in their clash with Nottingham Forest.
The 29-year-old signed for the Elland Road side on a free transfer earlier this summer from Fulham.
His signature was viewed as a coup for the LS11 side, especially for the lack of a fee.
He has featured six times in pre-season, and is yet to record a goal or assist in a Whites shirt.
He did manage 10 goals and seven assists in the Premier League last season, and will fancy his chances of opening his account at the City Ground.
Noah Okafor may not be as lucky, though, as he may be left on the bench for the opening weekend clash on 22 August.
Will Nico Elvedi make his Leeds debut vs Nottingham Forest?
Leeds confirmed the signing of Nico Elvedi on Wednesday, so the main question is whether he will make his debut.
Given that the registration deadline is usually 12:00pm the day before the game, it is likely that he has been registered in time to feature.
However, his readiness in terms of a fitness standpoint may not be as clear, and the Elland Road side may wait to give him his chance.
They have a settled backline right now, and throwing the Switzerland international in at the deep end, could backfire massively.
How could Leeds line up for Forest clash?
The Peacocks lined up in a 3-4-2-1 in their latest 4-0 friendly win against Augsburg.
Farke is likely to repeat that system against in the top-flight opener at the City Ground.
James Trafford is the new number one and is expected to start the contest against Oliver Glasner's side.
Elvedi is predicted to start from the bench, due to a lack of preparation, with Joe Rodon, Jaka Bijol and Tarik Muharemovic starting in a back three.
Jayden Bogle and James Justin are expected to be the starting options at wing-back.
Anton Stach and Ethan Ampadu should keep their places from the win over the Germans, with Ao Tanaka and Sean Longstaff playing a total of 36 minutes in that game.
High-profile star Okafor is expected to sit out, as he recovers from a late return to training, with Brenden Aaronson and Wilson selected in attacking midfield roles.
The Swiss attacker has said he is "hungry" to get back to action, but the boss may choose to ease him back slowly.
Dominic Calvert-Lewin is predicted to lead the line, after his brace of assists against the Bundesliga outfit.
