Don Goodman fumes at Crysencio Summerville after what he did in Leeds United v Southampton live on Sky Sports
Don Goodman was absolutely furious with Crysencio Summerville after what he did in Leeds United’s defeat to Southampton at St Mary’s.
The Whites were well beaten thanks to goals from Adam Armstrong, Will Smallbone and a Pascal Struijk own-goal, before the Dutch defender pulled one back that ultimately meant nothing.
But after watching Summerville fail to track Kyle Walker-Peters with the team struggling while doing commentary for Sky Sports (30 September, 13:00), Goodman was furious with the Dutch winger.

“If anything had come from that, Crysencio Summerville would have been feeling the wrath of Daniel Farke I’m sure,” he said.
“He let Kyle Walker-Peters go way too easily, way too easily. Has to be more urgency than this, look where Kyle Walker-Peters picks this up, and look how easily Summerville just lets him go. ‘I’m not going to chase you, yeah I think I’ll start jogging now’.
“If anything comes from that in my day you’re getting pinned up against the dressing room wall. I know we don’t do that anymore but, needs to do better. Needs to have more desire, needs to have more hunger.”
Poor
It was a really bad performance from Leeds, and this time we don’t have the excuse of a weakened squad or the transfer window distracting players.
Nobody other than Pascal Struijk really showed up on the day but Summerville was arguably the worst of a bad bunch as he failed to track his runners defensively and was also locked up when going forward.

With Wilfried Gnonto out, he has been given an opportunity in his preferred left-winger role and he’s not really showing why he should be the main man in that position for this team.
In these tough away games we need everyone to be giving their all and showing why they were picked ahead of others, and Summerville didn’t do that today.
He has to improve, and fans will notice these small things like not tracking back when we’re losing and the game looks done. He can’t make it a habit.
