What Leeds United have asked RB Leipzig as Daniel Farke eyes Conrad Harder transfer

Conrad Harder may be the striker signing Leeds United have been looking to sign.

The RB Leipzig man has emerged as an option for the Whites over the last few days.

Links have suggested that Leeds made an approach for the Danish forward, but little has been known about what that entailed.

Interest from Lazio and Galatasaray means it would not be an easy shootout in order to land the European striker.

A backup for Dominic Calvert-Lewin is certainly needed, especially with Joel Piroe already exiting.

And what Leeds have done in the race for Harder has not emerged out of Germany.

What have Leeds done in the race for Conrad Harder?

As shared, it is known that Leeds have made an approach for Harder this summer window.

But, the purpose of that has not yet been known until now. Harder has only been at Leipzig for one season but has failed to make an impression.

Back in 2025, before his move, Sporting CP manager Rui Borges stated that Harder had "enormous potential".

According to the print edition of BILD, Leeds' approach to RB Leipzig was to enquire about the chance of taking the Danish forward on loan.

The report shares that is the highest level of contact the Bundesliga side has received so far, with Galatasaray and Lazio doing the same.

These talks have only been described as "tentative loan inquiries".

Leipzig are reportedly open to the idea of a loan for Harder, and including an option to buy this summer.

So, it remains to be seen if Leeds press ahead with their interest following that inquiry.

Harder is said not to be Leeds' priority, so the LS11 outfit may have more options they are looking to pounce on this summer.

What else do Leeds need ahead of the transfer deadline?

There are just a few days left of the 2026 summer window and Leeds would ideally want to bring a couple more players in.

A move for Michael Zetterer is heading in the right direction, with the German flying in to finalise his move.

That transfer will sort out the goalkeeper department.

Elsewhere, the Whites have been linked with moves for numerous left-sided forwards, with loan bids made for Mykhailo Mudryk.

Another left-sided wingback could also be used with Gabriel Gudmundsson having no backup at Elland Road.

The right-footed James Justin has been filling in as an emergency option, but another left-footer would be ideal.

There is certainly plenty to get done but whether the Whites have the means to solve all those issues remains up in the air.
