Two clues that Leeds United could be about to seal Pavel Sulc transfer

Pavel Sulc has been on Leeds United's transfer radar for weeks now.

Daniel Farke has made it no secret that he would like further reinforcements in midfield and the final third.

That's even after the marquee free signing of Harry Wilson, with Tarik Muharemovic and James Trafford set to make it three arrivals.

Leeds have been heavily linked with Sulc already, with Lyon rating the Czechia playmaker at £25million.

The Whites want another difference maker in the final third, someone who can play out wide, but also centrally.

And new links to Igor Paixao may have revealed their actual target.

Leeds pushed hard to make Paixao their headline signing from Feyenoord after promotion to the Premier League.

Unfortunately, he went to Ligue 1 with Marseille.

The French giants have well-known financial issues, and could be forced to sell the Brazilian only one year later.

Leeds are linked again, but given his price being over £40m, they are said to have two targets ahead of him on their shortlist, via Santi Aouna.

Sulc could definitely be one of the two options ahead of Paixao, and Lyon have only fuelled that possibility now.

Second clue that Pavel Sulc is heading to Leeds

Pre-season is well underway now around Europe, with even those at the World Cup returning to training after their breaks.

Despite that, Sulc has not been included in Lyon's squad to play Sparta Prague on Tuesday evening.

OL are due in Czechia for the Champions League qualifier on 4 August, and the playmaker would certainly have been ecstatic to play in his home country.

Instead, he has been left behind, with Lyon fans in the comment even scratching their heads at his absence.

So, is it over to Leeds to get a deal done for Sulc?

Trafford is on the verge of finalising his record move to Elland Road from Manchester City, then all eyes are outfield.

Sulc would tick several boxes for Farke, being able to play across the final third, as well as slightly deeper in midfield.
