Leeds United have once again been heavily linked with Igor Paixao.

The Brazilian was heavily courted by Daniel Farke and the 49ers Enterprises after promotion to the Premier League.

Then at Feyenoord, Paixao decided on a move to Marseille instead of Elland Road.

Leeds went onto sign Noah Okafor from AC Milan instead, a move which worked out perfectly in the end.

But now, a market opportunity may have arrived for Paixao to eventually sign for Leeds, only one year later.

So, it's over to Paraag Marathe and his team.

What's the latest with Igor Paixao and Leeds United?

MOT Leeds News has heavily covered Leeds re-entering the market for Paixao in recent days.

Now, Santi Aouna of Foot Mercato has reported that the Brazilian winger is actually only third on their shortlist of attackers.

Despite that, it's said that they value him up to £29.9million and have entered talks with his representatives again.

The trouble comes from Marseille, who actually value Paixao at closer to £42.7m in the south of France.

Why have Leeds United switched targets?

With the saga surrounding Julian Brandt finally ending on Saturday, all eyes are moving to other players.

The German free agent had offers on the table from Leeds, but instead decided to sign for Ajax.

What's next for Leeds United after failed Julian Brandt pursuit?

Leeds were already looking at other options, though.

Paixao is on that list, but seemingly third, so there's another two targets that are actually ahead of him.

Missing out on Brandt could actually be a blessing in disguise though, with different profiles being decided on.

Brandt is more central, whilst the likes of Paixao are wide options who can cut inside of either foot and also play centrally.

With James Trafford being finalised for up to £45m, though, it appears highly unlikely that Leeds will go anywhere near that figure again.

Farke has to be smart with the remainder of his budget, and further sales could help him get closer to those fees needed for the likes of Paixao.

But, given he is supposedly only third on the shortlist, other options that are potentially cheaper may be on the radar for now.
