Leeds United will have to look elsewhere after Julian Brandt's signature was confirmed at Ajax.

The German attacking midfielder had held talks with Daniel Farke's side over a free transfer, but he has now moved to the Amsterdam-based side.

The 48-cap international had previously spent his entire career in the Bundesliga, and had been patiently assessing his next move.

The Whites could revive their interest in Marseille's Igor Paixao.

Graham Smyth claimed on Friday that they have been assessing options since Brandt did not sign before their tour of the United States.

He stated that the 26-year-old was one of the names under consideration.

Pavel Sulc interest could be accelerated by Leeds

Pavel Sulc is another name who has apparently been on the Elland Road side's radar this summer.

The Lyon playmaker is available for around £21.3million and the Peacocks have reportedly held talks over a move.

They are not along, as the likes of Everton, Aston Villa and Tottenham have also been linked with the 25-year-old.

He notched 11 goals and three assists last season in Ligue 1, so it is no surprise clubs have taken notice.

Harvey Elliott could be the most sensible option

Harvey Elliott would be a name that would get supporters excited in LS11.

His status at Liverpool is unknown after Andoni Iraola took to the Anfield dugout, but he was not fancied last season by Arne Slot.

If he decides that he is not part of his plans, then the England Under-21 may seek an exit, after a miserable spell on loan with Villa last season.
