Willy Gnonto could cause an uproar at Leeds United in the coming days.

With the transfer deadline quickly approaching on Tuesday, the Whites made it five signings for the summer on Saturday.

Michael Zetterer arrived from Eintracht Frankfurt as second-choice goalkeeper, but Leeds are far from done there.

Gnonto's future is yet to be resolved in LS11, but there are talks underway over a possible exit.

Who could replace Willy Gnonto?

The general message from Leeds fans is that they don't want Gnonto to go anywhere, especially this late.

Brenden Aaronson has signed a new contract, while Dan James continue to play ahead of Gnonto, which has most baffled.

And as the Italian prepares to return from injury against Brentford on Sunday, transfer links have intensified.

Gnonto is linked with Fiorentina, with talks underway over both a possible loan or permanent switch to Italy.

Interesting, the Mail on Sunday now reports in its print edition that the winger is "set for Italy move".

The newspaper only states that talks are underway on 30 August, but seem to present it as though it's likely to happen.

On top of that, they suggest that another move for Chelsea's Mykhailo Mudryk is likely, with talks also ongoing over RB Leipzig striker, Conrad Harder.

Willy Gnonto can't be allowed to leave now

The only players who should be allowed to leave this late are those that simply have no role to play.

Largie Ramazani and Mateo Joseph are the two that spring to mind.

Gnonto may have asked to leave Leeds years ago, but not now, he's already admitted that he feels more at home than ever this summer.

The winger looked bright in pre-season again, and now back from injury, he has to prove himself again to Daniel Farke.

A high-profile left winger hasn't arrived yet, so the door is fully open.

Harry Wilson is on the right now, pushing Aaronson and James back, but neither of those two can do what Gnonto does on the left when given the chance around Noah Okafor.

This can't be allowed to happen.
