Mykhailo Mudryk is a player Leeds United are hoping to sign to replace the outgoing Wilfried Gnonto.

The Italian looks set to depart before the deadline, with Gnonto enroute to completing a medical with Fiorentina.

It was said that the Whites would not sanction that departure without a replacement in sight.

And it seems Mudryk is still the man that Daniel Farke wants to come in and take Gnonto's place.

Leeds have had multiple bids rejected already, but are now continuing to push for a deal, with one roadblock in the way.

What are Chelsea demanding from Leeds for Mykhailo Mudryk's loan

After being out of action since November 2024, Mudryk will want to return to football in the right enviroment.

It has been widely reported that the Ukrainian wishes to stay in the Premier League, and Leeds have been the main interested party to provide that option.

However, Chelsea have so far shown an unwillingness to send the winger to Elland Road as a late push to make Mudryk Leeds' sixth summer signing is underway.

That is because according to Sky Sports' Zinny Boswell, Chelsea want to include terms that guarantee minutes.

Those demands are proving to be "problematic" as Leeds and Chelsea remain in talks.

The journalist also shares that Farke is "very keen" on Mudryk as the Whites look to add another attacker.

Why Leeds agreeing to Chelsea terms would be a risk

After Mudryk's time away from football, there is no guarantee that he will return as the same player he once was.

At least, in the short term. The winger was known for his blistering pace but with no professional appearances since the end of 2024, a risk is attached to him.

Leeds will want to push for higher ambitions this season, and if they are forced to provide minutes to Mudryk, especially if he is in poor form, they would be causing themselves problems.

If this is the defining factor of the deal, Leeds must think carefully if they are willing to compromise.
