Mykhailo Mudryk is the surprise target that refuses to go away at Leeds United.

The Chelsea winger has finally been cleared to return to action after two years, as his doping ban was resolved.

After so long out, the door was opened to a loan exit at Stamford Bridge, with Premier League interest immediate.

Leeds are at the front of that queue, and have already seen one loan offer rejected for the Ukranian star.

And as the 11pm deadline quickly approaches on Tuesday, Mudryk has clearly made up his mind.

Leeds need signings

Daniel Farke admitted it after the 1-1 draw with Brentford on Sunday, and that need is only growing.

Mudryk could help him with that immediately.

As we enter the 11th-hour of the transfer window, the winger has made his stance very clear to those interested.

Christian Vaquero, who's past employers include Marca and DAZN via LinkedIn, has reported that Leeds is a "priority" for Mudryk.

Strasbourg were also said to have asked alongside Leeds, but even with their BlueCo links, look to be behind.

Described as a "top priority option", Mudryk wants the Premier League.

Why this would be a headline signing for Leeds

Not only does his doping ban create headlines, but everybody will be looking to see how he performs after so long out.

People may have forgotten that Mudryk was one of Europe's biggest talents at Shakhtar Donetsk before signing for Chelsea.

Signing for up to £88.5million, the Blues beat Premier League champions Arsenal to his signing at the time.

So, that talent simply doesn't disappear overnight.

Noah Okafor is a guaranteed starter when fully fit, with Brenden Aaronson and Dan James behind, so it's clear that more quality is needed.

With Willy Gnonto now set for the exit, Leeds could have replacement lined up and ready to go, especially if Mudryk has any say on it.
