One flight changes everything with Michael Zetterer set to sign for Leeds United

Michael Zetterer has changed his mind over a move to Leeds United.

A transfer saga has unravelled around the goalkeeper, who looked destined for LS11 before it then looked unlikely.

Zetterer's agent even categorically denied that he was close to a move to Elland Road before the 1 September deadline.

Now, everything has changed again.

Leeds have already broken their transfer record to sign James Trafford from Manchester City.

So, it could have been hard for Daniel Farke to convince another goalkeeper to join and sit behind him, but Zetterer looks set to be that man.

After spending one year with Eintracht Frankfurt, the keeper looks set to leave Germany.

That came after his spell at Werder Bremen, so the Premier League may be too good to turn down.

Kicker has now reported that Zetterer actually flew into Leeds over the most recent weekend to look around.

It's said that there, he could start to imagine his life playing under Farke and in the city of Leeds.

Alex Cairns is currently number two, but most things look to be lining up for that to change with Zetterer stepping ahead.

How much could Leeds pay for Michael Zetterer?

Tuesday has been a wild day in this transfer saga.

It started with reports that Zetterer would have to accept lower wages than he is currently on in Germany to sign for the Whites.

At the same time, Leeds were said to have agreed a £4.3million fee with Frankfurt for his services.

So, now that is possibly sorted and Zetterer wants the move, he could be flying back into West Yorkshire for a medical very shortly.

Lucas Perri has been in the squad for the two games at Nottingham Forest, but this move should eventually allow him to move on.

The Brazilian has been heavily courted by Torino, but it's uncertain if they are still waiting to complete that deal or they've been left bored.
