Melvin Bard is set to become the first signing of deadline day for Leeds United.

The OGC Nice left-back is Elland Road bound already as the Whites kickstart their final day business early.

Leeds will sign Bard on loan, with an intial fee and future permanent option worth up to £5.1million in total.

With Gabriel Gudmundsson just coming back from another hamstring injury, depth was critical on the left.

Daniel Farke made that clear after the draw with Brentford, which saw Joe Rodon also forced off injured.

What else can Leeds fans expect on deadline day?

All of the talk throughout the second half of the window has been on the final third.

Whether a new striker or another left winger, Leeds and Farke have wanted another body in that area.

Instead, they were forced into action with Bard.

Having done that seemingly overnight, Beren Cross now reports that Leeds are "expected" to conclude other business.

The Athletic journalist states that sources at Elland Road insist Willy Gnonto still won't be able to leave without a replacement being found first.

Awkwardly, Gnonto has been pictured in Fiorentina's training gear, but that could mean nothing yet.

What else is happening at Leeds?

So, Bard is on his way and Gnonto is waiting to see if he will be allowed to officially confirm his switch to Fiorentina.

Outside of that, Largie Ramazani is expected to join Burnley permanently before the 11pm deadline.

That would end his nightmare at Elland Road, but also be another winger going out, rather than comn

Chelsea's Mykhailo Mudryk was a prime target, but he's now set to join Spurs after Leeds saw a loan offer rejected.

Things move very quickly on deadline day, though, as seen with Bard, so it would be no surprise to see another winger head to Yorkshire today.
