Wilfried Gnonto is in Italy ahead of a proposed transfer from Leeds United to Fiorentina.

The winger has been touted for a move away from Elland Road all summer, and is now closing in on a departure.

The Whites have been needing to sanction some exits, but Daniel Farke will be sure not to leave himself short.

Gnonto is one of several players who could depart LS11 ahead of Tuesday's deadline.

However, there are doubts over whether Leeds will sanction the move, and it could lead to a very familiar type of deadline day for the Whites.

Why Wilfried Gnonto footage is primed Leeds deadline day lore

Gnonto has been keen to return to Italy, and his wish looks close to being granted.

As shared on video by Sky Sports journalist Zinny Boswell on X this Monday, Gnonto is in Italy and can be seen in Fiorentina's training kit.

The 22-year-old is ready to join the Serie A side on an initial season-long loan, which will also include an option to buy.

However, the Whites will only sanction the winger's exit if they can sign a replacement.

Leeds have been trying to sign Mykhailo Mudryk on loan from Chelsea, but the Ukrainian now looks set to join Tottenham.

Farke and Co. could yet pull the plug on Gnonto's proposed move, which would lead to a typical fashioned Leeds deadline day.

Leeds evidence shows Gnonto deal should go through still

Gnonto barely got used by Farke last season, so the Whites should not be too worried about having to replace him.

The Italian is behind both Noah Okafor and Brenden Aaronson, as the pair have both played in left attacking roles already this season.

Dan James is getting more fit, while Harry Wilson is now an option for Farke.

Even if Leeds can't sign Mudryk, Gnonto's exit should still be sanctioned.
