Mykhailo Mudryk priority emerges as Tottenham try to hijack Leeds United talks

Leeds United look set to be disappointed in their chase for Chelsea's Mykhailo Mudryk.

Daniel Farke was keen to bring the Ukrainian forward in, but talks between the sides had stalled.

There was hope that the Elland Road side could revive a potential move before the deadline.

However, that will be a difficult task now, as Tottenham have entered the race for his signature.

The player's priority has now been shared as he looks set to seal move ahead of the 1 September deadline.

What is Mykhailo Mudryk's priority amid Leeds talks

Mudryk was understood to be keen on joining Leeds, despite the collapse in talks.

The Blues had wanted a clause which guaranteed regular gametime, but Farke's side would not agree to that.

It may come back to haunt them, as the BBC's Nizaar Kinsella claimed on Monday that Spurs have hijacked the Whites' talks and the deal is advancing.

talkSPORT's Ben Jacobs followed that with a report that the 25-year-old has given his priority to the Lilywhites, informing Chelsea that is the move that he wants to make.

It looks as though the LS11 side will have to look elsewhere, if they are to bolster their flanks.

Where could Leeds turn after Mudryk priority made clear?

Leeds have already learnt their fate on Igor Paixao, he is set to stay with Marseille this summer. 

Mateus Mane, from Championship side Wolves, has been linked as a potential option, with a £40million fee potentially on the cards.

No other names have emerged as potential options for the Peacocks, so the solution may be starting them in the face.

The best option may well be to keep Wilfried Gnonto as there is not much time to secure a replacement, and it would leave the squad short if he departed.

They have left it far too late, and it seems like the stubbornness on Mudryk has come back to haunt them.
