Leeds United make offer for Orlando Gill as James Trafford plan made clear

Leeds United are still in the market for another goalkeeper, with San Lorenzo's Orlando Gill on their radar.

Daniel Farke has been vocal over his need for reinforcements, with depth needed as well as quality.

Leeds have added plenty of the latter, with James Trafford signing for a record £40million-plus from Manchester City.

He joins Harry Wilson and Tarik Muharemovic through the door at Elland Road this summer already.

But, the 49ers Enterprises aren't stopping there.

Gill could be the fourth new signing in West Yorkshire, with Leeds already making their move in South America.

Trafford may be a record signing in more ways than one, but further reinforcements are needed.

Illan Meslier and Karl Darlow both left as free agents, joining Arsenal and Manchester United respectively.

Trafford is an immense upgrade on both, but another option is needed alongside Alex Cairns in reserve.

And, Carlin Correa of Paraguayan radio station Nanduti, has reported Leeds making a bid for Gill.

Described as a "formal offer", it's uncertain how much it was, or whether it was enough to be accepted.

Paraguay may have pulled off some decent scalps in North America, but they were known for something else.

After beating Germany on penalties in the round of 32, they set up a glamour tie with France.

Gill was a national hero against the Germans, saving two penalties.

But, it was his teammates that took centre stage against France, for their remarkable number of fouls.

It was crazy, with media outlets around the world finding it unbelievable that they didn't receive a single booking.

Officially, they gave away 13 fouls, but there were plenty missed and blatant ones at that.

So, where would he sit at Leeds?

Trafford is number one, and he will be for many years to come at Elland Road, there's no disputing that.

So, would Gill be happy coming to West Yorkshire to sit on the bench frequently and only play in cup competitions?

Of course, coming from Paraguay to the biggest league in the world has a massive pull, but time will tell if it works for Leeds and everyone else.
