Harry Wilson has been offered a new contract by Fulham, with the Leeds United-linked winger possibly set to stay at Craven Cottage.

2025-26 was one of Wilson's best campaigns of his career, scoring 11 times and providing eight assists from 41 total appearances for Fulham.

Ten of those goals and seven of his assists came in the Premier League too, showing that at 29-years old, the Wales international is still right at the top of his game.

As a result, numerous sides have been linked with summer swoops for the versatile winger, one of which being Leeds.

And with Wilson's Fulham contract set to expire this summer, whoever lands his signature could be getting one of the bargains of the transfer window.

But Leeds, and indeed Wilson's other interested parties, may now need to brace themselves for major disappointment.

Fulham confirm Harry Wilson offer in retained list

Wilson has been continuously touted with a move to Leeds over the past few months.

Now that Daniel Farke has the core of a strong Premier League squad, adding quality players such as Wilson over quantity this summer looks to be the focus of the Whites' recruitment chiefs.

However, whilst many have seen it as a foregone conclusion that the Welshman will leave Craven Cottage in the coming weeks, Fulham appear to have other ideas.

Publishing their retained list on Monday, the Cottagers have confirmed that they've offered a new contract to Wilson alongside seven other players.

It's understood that his current deal expires at the end of this month, meaning we won't have to wait long to find out whether or not Leeds have a chance at signing Wilson this summer.

Do Leeds still need Wilson?

So, if Wilson was to sign a new contract with Fulham, just how big of a blow would that be for Leeds, and do the Whites really need him that badly?

Well, his fit in Farke's system would certainly be an interesting one, as he's predominantly a right winger.

Farke largely reverted to a wing-back approach during the final months of last season, so if that is to be the way forward at Elland Road, then Wilson may need to be moved inside.

He can certainly operate as an attacking midfielder, but he'd also find some stern competition in the likes of Noah Okafor, Brenden Aaronson and Anton Stach respectively.

But, you can never have too many good attacking players, and certainly if they're as versatile and as proven as Wilson is.

His wand of a left foot would add a different weapon to Leeds' attacking arsenal, and his positional flexibility would hand Farke even more tactical freedom.

So yes, Wilson is still absolutely a player Leeds could do with signing this summer, and so fingers will be crossed in West Yorkshire that he rebuffs Fulham's contract offer.
