Leeds United comparison shows why transfer patience shouldn't panic supporters
Leeds United's preparations for 2026-27 are yet to get fully underway, even if a signing has finally been made.
The transfer window so far has been somewhat underwhelming for Whites fans, who have seen just one player come through the door.
That player is Harry Wilson, with Leeds completing the ambitious signing on a free after his Fulham departure.
Daniel Farke's side are aiming to build on a strong campaign in which they finished 14th in the Premier League.
Continuing to improve as the season went on, the Whites ended the term looking like a seasoned top flight outfit, after last summer's strong recruitment.
With this in mind, MOT Leeds News takes a look at the business completed this time last year, in comparison to the early days of the current window.
Recent Leeds business compared with last summer
By 9 July 2025, Leeds had already brought in Jaka Bijol, Lukas Nmecha, Sebastiaan Bornauw and Gabriel Gudmundsson.
A year later, Leeds are yet to spend a penny, with Wilson arriving on a free from Fulham.
But it is not time to panic just yet, with Leeds remaining interested in Southampton midfielder Shea Charles, as well as Parma goalkeeper Zion Suzuki among others.
With the World Cup also reaching its latter stages, fans at Elland Road will hope that they will now start to see business being done as they prepare for the new term.
Leeds fans need not panic - they can still build on last season
In the Premier League last season, Leeds were the one team who spent £100million or more, just on players above the age of 25.
As a result, Farke was able to build an experienced squad which had battle hardened figures and Premier League mainstays coursing through it.
This aided Leeds in taking to the Premier League like a duck to water, with the only real relegation worries coming through a poor period before the festive turnaround
Having earned promotion last May, business was obviously going to have been done sooner as a top-flight squad was built.
Now, it is about adding touches to the side that will raise the overall ceiling, not completing a total revamp.
Of course, any supporter wants to see incomings, but Leeds fans need not panic just yet, with the current squad providing a superb base to build from heading into next term.
