Leeds decide their next move in bid to sign Mykhailo Mudryk
Leeds United are continuing to push for a move for Chelsea winger Mykhailo Mudryk.
The Ukrainian has returned to playing football after his ban was lifted ahead of the 2026-2027 season.
The 25-year-old is not in Chelsea's immediate plans with the London side looking to loan him out this summer.
Leeds have emerged as a prime candidate to offer the winger his route back to regular football.
The Yorkshire-based outfit wants to add to their forward options this summer.
And their next step in that pursuit has now emerged as the days before the deadline count down.
What is Leeds' next step in Mykhailo Mudryk pursuit?
Leeds have already had a loan offer rejected for Mudryk this summer by Chelsea.
However, that is not deterring the Elland Road outfit from trying to seek an agreement in order to bring him to Yorkshire.
Now, according to Fabrizio Romano, the Whites are gearing up for a second approach.
He shares that a new loan bid is currently being prepared as Daniel Farke looks to add another forward option to his ranks.
For Leeds fans, they will now be waiting to hear what was offered and whether the London outfit have accepted the terms.
Leeds' chances of agreeing a deal are boosted due to the fact that Mudryk wants to remain in England.
And Farke will be hoping that a deal can be wrapped up ahead of the Whites' next Premier League fixture.
A home game against Brentford looms on Sunday, 30 August but first Leeds face Nottingham Forest once more on Tuesday, 25 August in the Carabao Cup.
Why Leeds must be careful with Mudryk deal
The arrival of Mudryk is undoubtedly one that is being viewed as a signing to bolster the numbers at Elland Road.
However, after not playing a competitive match since November 2024, he will need time to get going under Farke.
Additionally, with it only being a loan transfer rather than permanent, the Ukrainain may end up having little impact as he adjusts back to the demands of professional football.
But maybe Mudryk can surprise us all, and he acclimates more quickly to during his return football than expected.
If he can regain his best form, though, the deal could prove to be far more significant than simply adding depth.
And he could prove to be a shrewd pick-up by the 49ers this summer and that is what Leeds fans will hope comes out of this possible move.
