Leeds United are continuing negotiations for Chelsea winger Mykhailo Mudryk.

The right-footed attacker has emerged as a surprise target for the Whites after his ban ended.

Following a positive test for a banned substance, the £88.5million Stamford Bridge signing was unable to play for 20 months.

Mudryk now has an opportunity to revive his career at Elland Road under Daniel Farke, but Chelsea have rejected an initial loan bid.

Nonetheless, the West Yorkshire outfit will surely be confident about striking a deal for the 25-year-old in the coming days.

There's not much time left before transfer deadline day and the Blues need to make a quick decision on the Ukraine international.

How Mykhailo Mudryk feels about Leeds United transfer

Chelsea declined Leeds' initial offer for Mudryk, but his situation will be worth watching closely in LS11.

The Whites are still trying to reach an agreement with the Blues and everything seems to suggest they will sign the winger.

According to BBC Sport on 21 August, the Ukrainian ace is keen on making a move to Elland Road.

The West Yorkshire outfit have also emerged as frontrunners to sign Mudryk as they're willing to get him on a straight loan without a purchase option.

Chelsea also see Strasbourg as a potential destination for the attacker, but he would like to stay in the Premier League, as per Fabrizio Romano.

What Mykhailo Mudryk transfer would mean for Elland Road attack

Leeds have made one addition to their senior squad up front in Harry Wilson.

Highly-rated 18-year-old forward Ditmir Hodja will join the Whites' Under-21 side for now.

Noah Okafor was Farke's first-choice on the left-wing last season and Mudryk would likely have to compete with him for minutes at Elland Road.

Wilfried Gnonto and Dan James are also at the German manager's disposal, but their influence in the side has diminished.

A possible front line of Wilson, Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Mudryk would certainly be an interesting prospect in West Yorkshire.

The 49ers Enterprises haven't been shy about spending money in LS11 this summer and it shouldn't come as a shock if they're willing to cover the Chelsea attacker's wages for the 2026-27 campaign.
