Kjell Scherpen's feelings on a potential move to Leeds United have been revealed.

The Dutchman is the latest stopper to be linked with the Whites, as they try to solve their goalkeeping situation.

The Elland Road side have lost Karl Darlow and Illan Meslier, and Lucas Perri is also attracting interest from Torino.

Daniel Farke seems to casting a wide eye over European football in his attempts to find the new man between the sticks.

However, it appears that they are set to miss out on their latest goalkeeping target, but he still wants a Premier League move.

What has been said about Kjell Scherpen's thoughts on Leeds move?

Leeds seem to have a lot of work to do if they are to make Scherpen their new number one.

Voetbal International journalist Joost Blaauwhof revealed on Sunday that there is "little chance" of Leeds signing the Union Saint-Gilloise star, despite them showing their hand.

He stated that the 26-year-old is unaware of the interest from the LS11 side.

The respected reporter, who has over 10,000 followers, claimed that he wants to follow Martijn Reuser and join Ipswich.

The Jupiler Pro League outfit will have the final say on any potential deal, according to Blaauwhof.

Why do Leeds want to sign Scherpen?

Scherpen spent time with Brighton between 2021 and 2025, making one senior appearance for the Seagulls.

When he signed for the AMEX Stadium side, their manager at the time, Graham Potter, was optimistic.

Speaking in 2021, he said: "We see him as a player with a lot of the right attributes."

The 18-cap Under-21 international has made 62 appearances in the Eredivisie, 29 in the Belgium top-flight and also has 14 Champions League games under his belt.

He has kept 21 clean sheets in 43 games for his current side, so it makes sense why the Peacocks view him as an option for their vacancy.

Unfortunately, it seems like they will have to look elsewhere, and have entered the race for Scherpen too late, he is already set on his destination.

Barring a spectacular U-turn from the player, it appears that Thorp Arch will not be his base of operations going forward.
