Lukas Nmecha is one of the bigger winners from Leeds United's squad following the transfer window.

The 27-year-old has proved to be a reliable option off the bench over the last year, with Nmecha scoring six goals in the 2025-2026 campaign.

And during that season, he started in just 10 of his 31 appearances.

Now, with the transfer window closed, the pecking order at Elland Road has become a lot clearer.

While many will be dropped down the rankings, for others, the window has brought hope about their involvement.

With Nmecha one of those players that will have loved how Leeds' summer business concluded.

However, one position they looked to strengthen but were unable to find a suitable incoming for was striker.

Now, after that position wasn't filled, Nmecha has a clearer pathway to becoming a Leeds regular.

While Calvert-Lewin is likely to start most games, the Englishman's past injury issues will still be on mind, and Daniel Farke will look to rest him when he can.

So, with Nmecha the only out-and-out striker at Elland Road to replace Calvert-Lewin, he should see a rise in minutes.

A positive outcome for the German from the transfer window, while the same may not be said for others.

Why Dan James is set for 2025-2026 repeat at Leeds

In the opposite way to Nmecha, Dan James will be feeling the heat over his role at Elland Road this season.

Harry Wilson and Jean-Matteo Bahoya have been brought into the LS11 outfit.

Farke has also utilised two narrow forwards to support Calvert-Lewin rather than wingers over the last few games.

Last season, James started just six matches in the Premier League, and with further quality added in the two aforementioned signings his minutes will be limited again.

The Welshman's pace was a unique asset to have off the bench, but Bahoya can now also bring the same if Farke requires it in a fixture.

James will certainly be one of those in the squad that is not too happy with his place following the transfer window.
