Daniel Farke gives five-word update on new Leeds United contract
Daniel Farke has spoken out amid reports he has agreed a new contract with Leeds United.
The German's current deal expires in June 2027, but talks have apparently been happening to extend that.
Farke joined Leeds ahead of the 2023-24 season, losing the play-off final to Southampton in his first Championship campaign.
But Leeds went up as champions the following season, and enjoyed a solid return to the Premier League last term.
Leeds have taken five points from their opening three Premier League games this term, though exited the EFL Cup in a dramatic 6-3 loss at Chelsea on Wednesday.
Speaking with Sky Sports after that defeat, Farke gave a brief update on reports about his new contract.

Leeds played out a classic at Stamford Bridge, and had led 2-0 through goals from Tarik Muharemovic and Brenden Aaronson either side of half-time.
But braces for Cole Palmer and Danny Welbeck, as well as goals from Pedro Neto and Valentin Barco stunned Leeds, who had briefly brought it back to 4-3 through Dominic Calvert-Lewin.
Prior to the game, it had been reported on the Square Ball Podcast that Farke had agreed a deal in principle to sign a new contract with Leeds.
Podcast host Dan Moylan stated that the deal was all but done and some final details were being work through.
Farke gave a five-word reply to Sky when asked about a new deal after the Chelsea defeat, merely saying: "No. Nothing to speak off.”
A just reward for Daniel Farke at Leeds United
Despite the success he has enjoyed at Elland Road, Farke has had his detractors at times among the fanbase.
But, it feels like a just reward for the progress he has overseen at Leeds since taking over when the 49ers Enterprises acquired the club.
Ultimately, Leeds still have to prove they are capable of making progress in the Premier League this season.
There were some shrewd signings made in the transfer window, though, and the strength of the squad looks really good right now.
On balance, you have to say that Farke deserves a new deal, and it feels now that it is only a matter of time before it is announced.
