Sunderland vs Leeds United injury and suspension latest as 10 set to miss out
Leeds United and Sunderland both have big issues coming into their clash on Sunday afternoon.
Daniel Farke's side come into the Stadium of Light contest with just one win in their last four matches.
That was the 4-1 drubbing of Newcastle, and they will be hoping the other North East side in the division are also easy pickings.
Regis Le Bris' side are bottom of the Premier League, and have not won in their last five matches.
It is the perfect opportunity for the Whites to get back on track after a shaky run.
The hosts have injury concerns, as do the visitors, which could affect the outcome of the match.
Who could be missing for Leeds United?
Leeds have four problems heading into the vital game with Le Bris' side.
Farke has confirmed that Dominic Calvert-Lewin is a doubt for the contest.
Speaking about the forward, he said: "Calvert-Lewin had a foul late on and is struggling with a bruise on his foot, so a question mark there."
Farke confirmed that Joe Rodon is still out, with his return edging ever closer in LS11.
Anton Stach and Noah Okafor will also face late fitness tests.
He said: "Stach is the same with a foot problem - it's painful, so a question mark behind his availability.
"Okafor has an adductor problem as well. If the game was today, all three would not be available due to missing training sessions.
"The good news is we have two more days and we'll try to make them available."
Mateo Joseph is still out with a long-term issue, but he is not a part of the manager's plans anyway.
What is the latest on Sunderland's injuries?
Sunderland have their own concerns ahead of the clash with the Whites.
Brian Brobbey picked up a hamstring issue playing for the Netherlands in the international break, but he is in contention to play.
Speaking before the Europa League clash with Lech Poznan, Le Bris said: "He won't play tomorrow, but he will be ready for Leeds."
However, Dan Ballard is set to be absent, after suffering a hamstring injury while playing for Northern Ireland.
Le Bris spoke about his issue earlier this month, saying: “For Ballard, it is a medium-term injury - probably a few weeks."
Thomas Meunier is a doubt, despite the fact that he has started individual training after his injury against Brighton.
Wilson Isidor is another doubt, he did not travel to Poland, but has been back on the grass this week.
Romaine Mundle is out, as he is still recovering from knee surgery and is expected to return in the festive period.
Kevin Danso is unavailable as he serves his suspension for the red card against Bournemouth.
Hopefully, Leeds can take advantage of those absences and secure all three points at a tough place to go.
