Stuart Dallas shares Harry Wilson expectation after what he's seen from 'fantastic' Leeds United star

Harry Wilson has had a quiet start to life at Leeds United.

The Wales international moved to Elland Road on a free during the summer transfer window after his contract at Fulham ran out.

The 29-year-old had plenty of suitors after impressing at Craven Cottage during the 2025/26 season.

Wilson had been linked with a move at the start of that campaign, but a late switch failed to come to fruition.

However, 12 months on, the move did happen, and there was plenty of expectation on Wilson.

While he has not yet hit top form, ex-Leeds favourite Stuart Dallas made one bold prediction about Wilson by the end of the campaign.

What did Stuart Dallas say about Leeds United ace Harry Wilson?

Wilson has made four Premier League appearances for Leeds, but only one of those has come as a starter.

During that time, he has failed to score or assist, and his expected goals sits at just 0.01, and expected assists at just 0.10.

Daniel Farke has not yet been able to find a way to properly integrate Wilson into his preferred 3-4-3 system, and as such Wilson has largely found himself on the bench.

Conversely, Wilson scored 10 times and provided seven assists last season for Fulham, and was one of the Cottagers' top performers.

Former Leeds winger Dallas thinks it is a matter of time before Wilson comes good, and backed him to beat his output from last season.

Speaking to LeedsLive, Dallas said: "He comes with a big expectation because he had a really fantastic season at Fulham and got a lot of goals, a lot of numbers to his game.

“And obviously, he comes with expectation or a pressure and expectancy to deliver, and this is the modern-day game now and the modern-day football fans that when you don't deliver straight away, they think you've been poor.

“But when he has played, he has done OK. Would he have wanted to contribute more? Of course he would have. But in the last number of games he hasn't been selected. And it takes some time to settle off the pitch as well.

“He's injured at the minute, so hopefully he gets that sorted. But I have no doubt in the qualities that he brings.

“He's fantastic and Leeds have played a little bit differently to how Fulham did last year as well, so you've got to sort of adapt and find a way to get the best out of him too.

“And once he starts producing those numbers, I'm pretty sure and pretty confident that you'll see an upgraded version even on last year.”

It can be difficult to integrate a new player, especially when on the face of it there isn't a natural place in the system.

Farke initially tried to go with a pair of 10s playing off Dominic Calvert-Lewin, but the truth is Leeds look better when they have someone like Noah Okafor playing closer to him as more of a second striker.

But there should be no panic over Wilson, he is a top operator at this level and he is still finding his feet in a new environment.

Given time, and crucially given minutes, then Wilson can absolutely still be a big contributor to Leeds this season.

Whether or not he can surpass last season's output is another question, he would need to go some to do that.

It is a long season, though, and there is still big confidence that Wilson will play his part in a big way.
