How Harry Wilson has actually outperformed Noah Okafor at Leeds United this season

Harry Wilson hasn't had the best start to life at Leeds United.

While not entirely his own fault, the winger will admit himself that he knows he needs to be better at Elland Road.

Wilson started the opening day Premier League win at Nottingham Forest, but has been left on the bench since.

Daniel Farke has slightly adjusted his system again, leaving his marquee free signing as the victim of that.

Noah Okafor, on the other hand, has consistently started, despite not hitting the heights of last season.

And interesting data actually shows that Wilson may be the better choice.

How has Harry Wilson bettered Noah Okafor?

From a simple eye test, you'd assume that the Swiss star has performed better.

Naturally, he squares up his man and looks to use speed and trickery to create things for his teammates.

Wilson, is more of a playmaker, picking up the ball in pockets of space, drifting inside and out, before selecting his final ball.

Okafor may have scored one more than his teammate, but it's Wilson who has been more creative in his limited playing time.

LUFC Data has revealed on X that Wilson has created six chances from open play so far this season.

Okafor has created five, while Dan James is sitting on four.

This is even more impressive when you look at their minutes, with Wilson only featuring for 146 in the Premier League.

Okafor has played 303 minutes, with the former Fulham man missing out against Crystal Palace through injury.

Can Noah Okafor and Harry Wilson play together?

In a simple answer, yes.

Okafor plays off the left, and Wilson was brought in for the right.

They've only been swapping minutes because Farke has pushed Anton Stach further forward to accomodate Ao Tanaka.

Let's be honest, though, that isn't working for the German.

He looks miles off the pace right now, especially with Tanaka absolutely everywhere and playing at the top of his game again.

Wilson has remained at Thorp Arch in this extended international break with his small injury, giving him perfect time to recover and prove himself again.

With Arsenal, Manchester United, Sunderland and Bournemouth next, the likes of Wilson and Okafor will be needed if we want to pick up points.
