Leeds handed early Arsenal boost as Christos Tzolis one of nine doubts for Premier League return
Leeds United have got an early boost as Arsenal regular Christos Tzolis went off injured for Greece on Thursday.
The Gunners' summer signing has started all five of the champions' Premier League games this season so far.
While that fixture is still a week away, Daniel Farke will undoubtedly be looking at all the ways his Leeds side can hurt Mikel Arteta's outfit.
The London side are coming into the fixture off the back of a 3-0 defeat to Brighton, while the LS11 outfit secured a 0-0 draw against Crystal Palace.
Fans will be eagerly awaiting on the return of the Premier League following this extended international break.
And here is the latest on the two teams, including whether Tzolis will feature.
Which players are currently set to miss Arsenal vs Leeds?
Tzolis' injury for Arsenal is a blow, and Leeds will be hoping to exploit that.
While the Gunners can call upon Eberechi Eze in his place, the Englishman has barely featured this campaign, with a total of just 85 minutes being awarded to him.
As per Football.London, Tzolis is set to be sidelined for around 15 to 20 days, and with Leeds' game against Arsenal just a week away, he will miss that match.
Arsenal do have some other injury concerns, with William Saliba still ruled out of action.
Cristhian Mosquera, Kai Havertz, Declan Rice and Ben White are also dealing with injuries, and they will be assessed closer to the build-up to the game.
Meanwhile at Elland Road, Mateo Joseph, who is unlikely to feature when fit anyways, is recovering from an ACL injury, with Joe Rodon also unlikely to be passed fit.
Farke will also be hoping Harry Wilson recovers from a quad injury that kept him out of the international break for Wales.
How Leeds can exploit Tzolis injury
Tzolis and Eze are two very different footballers.
On one hand, the Greek winger likes to run down the touchline and beat his fullback, while Eze is more of a creative type who cuts in to pass or shoot.
If the Englishman reverts to that style, it could leave plenty of space for someone like Jayden Bogle to run into.
The wide areas may be Leeds' best chance to get at this Arsenal team, and they must take the advantage wherever they can get it.
