Chris Hughton has pointed out the Leeds United moment that would have frustrated Dominic Calvert-Lewin versus Nottingham Forest.

The Whites started the season strongly, keeping a clean sheet and securing all three points.

Anton Stach was the LS11 outfit's saviour with an excellent performance and a free-kick winner late on.

However, the Whites may have taken the lead earlier on in the game with Dominic Calvert-Lewin poised to open his account for the season.

New signing Harry Wilson would deny him that moment against Nottingham Forest.

With Hughton not impressed with the Welsh international on his debut for Leeds.

Why Chris Hughton was critical of Harry Wilson vs Nottingham Forest

There were many expectations for Wilson at Leeds and when he found the net in the 26th minute, it looked like he was reaching them.

But, the goal was correctly chalked off for offside with Wilson needing to do better in that moment.

Speaking at half-time of Premier Sports' coverage of Leeds' clash against Nottingham Forest, Hughton couldn't help but point out that instance involving Wilson, with focus on what was happening behind him in the box.

He stated: "If I am Calvert-Lewin here, if you look at his movement, he would be incredibly frustrated.

"He is about to tap it in. But if you look at Wilson's movement, where he is poor here is that he is almost always in an offside position. If he is coming onto it, that is a little bit different. He has got to check his run."

In truth, Wilson did not have the best of debuts for Leeds United, and Daniel Farke will be hoping there is much more to come.

Either way, an opening weekend win is all the German would have hoped for, and he managed to get that over the line.

Why Dominic Calvert-Lewin won't be too worried about performance vs Nottingham Forest

Calvert-Lewin was not quite involved in the game against Nottingham Forest as he would have hoped.

However, he will not have any concerns about the rest of the season as he was still supplied efficiently.

The English striker managed to carve out three chances for himself, which was the joint-most in the match as per FotMob.

Additionally, his presence up top proved once again to be a significant bonus for Leeds, with him competing in nine aerial duels and causing the opposition problems that way.
