Lucas Perri is on the verge of sealing his long-touted Leeds United exit this summer.

The 28-year-old goalkeeper endured a rough debut 2025-26 season at Elland Road.

Having joined from French Ligue 1 side Lyon last summer fresh off the back of playing 45 games there in 2024-25, there was strong confidence that the Brazilian was going to be Leeds' number one shot-stopper of the future.

But, after conceding 29 goals and keeping just three clean sheets from 16 Premier League appearances, Perri has quickly found himself out of Daniel Farke's thinking in LS11.

Now with James Trafford arriving in a record-breaking deal, that £40million plus add-ons transfer has seemingly sealed Perri's fate in West Yorkshire.

However, a fresh opportunity for him has arisen, and his new club appear delighted to be securing his signature.

How much Leeds could get for Lucas Perri in the future

Perri has been strongly linked with leaving Leeds throughout this summer transfer window, but finding a dance partner to do business with has proven challenging.

Leeds do finally seem to have found someone willing to do business with them though, and it's not going to be a bad move for Perri at all.

According to a report from Torino-focused news outlet CuoreToro, they claim that Torino are close to confirming the capture of Perri from Leeds.

They describe the transfer as "one of the most anticipated signings of the transfer window", clearly showing that the Serie A outfit are very happy to be acquiring the Whites outcast.

The report also cites claims suggesting that Perri will sign for Torino on an initial loan deal, but that the Turin-based outfit will have the option to purchase him from Leeds for a fee of roughly £9.4m.

So, just how close is the deal to being completed, and what are Torino's plans for Perri once he signs?

When Perri is set to arrive in Italy to complete Torino transfer

Now that Trafford is through the door, Leeds won't have any desire to see Perri's exit take any longer than it needs to.

Likewise with Torino, their goalkeeper Franco Israel has recently undergone shoulder surgery and is expected to be sidelined for a number of months, leaving them short for depth between the sticks.

The aforementioned report from CuoreToro claims that Perri is expected to arrive in Italy over the next few days, where he will then complete his medical and ink his signature on the contract.

So long as no unforeseen issues arise, then it's stated that he will be immediately available for selection, and that Torino would like to integrate him into the team straight away.

Torino's first competitive fixture of the 2026-27 season is a Coppa Italia clash with Carrarese on 15 August, before their Serie A campaign starts at home to AC Milan on 23 August respectively.
