Leeds United fans have no reason to panic at the lack of official announcement on Harry Wilson's signing, Graham Smyth has said.

It has been over a week since news broke that the Whites had agreed terms with Wilson to move to Elland Road.

The Wales international is officially a free agent after his Fulham contract expired on 30 June.

Wilson has reportedly agreed to a four-year deal at Leeds, which will see him earn a pay rise on the terms he had at Craven Cottage.

However, Leeds themselves have yet to officially confirm Wilson's arrival, despite everything seemingly being agreed.

But it does not appear that anything untoward is happening, and Smyth offered an explanation of where things are at.

Graham Smyth shares what he knows about Leeds' Harry Wilson's announcement

The transfer of Wilson to Leeds has been a long time coming, with the Whites having tracked him last summer.

A deal did not go through, and Wilson went on to have an excellent campaign for Fulham.

So, it represents a bit of a coup for Leeds to be getting a top Premier League performer, who is entering his peak years.

Yorkshire Evening Post reporter Smyth, speaking on the Inside Elland Road podcast, explained that the reason for the delay in Wilson's announcement is purely due to logistical reasons.

He added that the club might not actually make things official now until next week.

He said: "Yeah, it's done, it's agreed. I don't expect an announcement until possibly next week, but no one is worrying about it or panicking about it, there's no nefarious reasons behind that.

"It's just a timing, logistics thing, getting him in the building sort of thing as far as I'm aware. But, yeah, that one was agreed."

Who else do Leeds United want to sign?

After finishing14th on their return to the Premier League last season, Leeds are looking for more incremental improvements this time around.

The signing of Wilson represents a really good start to their summer recruitment work, but there is more still to do.

Julian Brandt, another free agent having left Borussia Dortmund, remains an ambitious target and Leeds are still working on a deal.

Southampton midfielder Shea Charles has been linked for the past few weeks, and that pursuit is in danger of becoming a bit of saga.

Manchester City goalkeeper James Trafford and Parma shot-stopper Zion Suzuki are also thought to be on Leeds' list as they look to improve their options between the sticks.
