Why Daniel Farke wants Julian Brandt at Leeds United shared as new update drops
Daniel Farke is targeting a sensational Leeds United swoop for Julian Brandt.
The 30-year-old announced in March that he would leave Borussia Dortmund this summer when his contract expires.
That has opened the door for the Premier League club to try and sign him on a free transfer.
Farke's side already look set to complete the signing of Harry Wilson upon the expiry of his Fulham deal, so another free agent could be on the cards.
Brandt would be the more high-profile of the two, if the Whites could get him through the door.
Now, the reasoning behind the Elland Road move for the 48-cap Germany international has been shared.
What has been said about Daniel Farke's motivations for Julian Brandt deal?
Leeds signing Brandt would be a real coup, as he is a top-calibre player and his reputation is very high.
Yorkshire Evening Post journalist Graham Smyth shared what Farke would be thinking on the Inside Elland Road podcast on Wednesday.
He said: “I think Farke would love to have him [Brandt] because of everything about him.
“[He is] experienced, German, Champions League quality, goals and assists.
“When a player like him comes in, you don’t need to drill processes into him for six months because he will probably pick it up quickly.”
Why Leeds supporters can't get their hopes up over Brandt
Leeds fans surely can't get too excited by the prospect of Brandt lining up in Yorkshire next season.
A new update from Leeds Live on Thursday claims that he has multiple other European suitors.
Therefore, it seems like it will be a difficult sell for Farke and Co to convince the player to join them.
He may well be looking to continue at the highest level, considering he has 82 Champions League appearances to his name already.
It may be a saga that drags on, as he assesses his options, and the Whites may eventually get him, if no other suitable offers come in for his services.
It remains to be seen whether they can persuade the German that it is the right move for his career, but he may decide that he wants to test himself in the Premier League.
If he does, then becoming a hero to the LS11 masses may well be appealing, as he would not get the same treatment elsewhere as he would from Leeds fans.
The Peacocks will be hoping that his compatriots, Anton Stach and Lucas Nmecha, can have a word and tell him how good it is to play for the club.
