Tarik Muharemovic is edging ever closer to completing his move to Leeds United.

The Whites have been extensively linked with a move for the Bosnia and Herzegovina international this week.

Premier League rivals Bournemouth and Sunderland were also said to be tracking the 23-year-old Sassuolo defender.

However, Leeds have been pushing hard for a deal, as they seek a replacement for Pascal Struijk.

Struijk departed for Brighton earlier in the transfer window, leaving Leeds looking a little light at centre-back.

But it now looks as though Daniel Farke is about to have his options significantly strengthened in the centre of defence.

Leeds United agree Tarik Muharemovic package

MOT Leeds News previously reported how Juventus were trying to drive up the price for Muharemovic as they own a 50 per cent sell-on clause.

Prominent transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano has now reported that Leeds have agreed a £34.1million package with Sassuolo.

Juventus will bank around £17m as a result of that deal given the clause they inserted when selling Muharemovic to Sassuolo.

Romano adds that Muharemovic is now ready to travel to Leeds to complete his medical ahead of the switch to Elland Road.

He is also ready to sign his contract at Leeds, with previous reports suggesting he could pen a five-year deal with the Whites.

What else do Leeds United this summer?

Leeds have made one signing this summer, with Harry Wilson arriving on a free transfer after his contract with Fulham expired.

Centre-back was looking an issue after Struijk left for the Seagulls, but Muharemovic should help in that problem area.

A new goalkeeper is now high on the priority list, with Illan Meslier and Karl Darlow departing.

Lucas Perri is still on the books but is being heavily linked with Torino, which would leave only emergency back-up Alex Cairns on the books as a senior goalkeeper.

Another striker to back up Dominic Calvert-Lewin would also be a welcome addition to the squad this summer.

There is still plenty of work to do this summer essentially, but Leeds are making good strides in the transfer market now.

Muharemovic is a player with an extremely high ceiling, and Leeds have worked hard to fight off big competition.
