BBC journalist Nizaar Kinsella claimed on Monday that talks continued between the clubs over the weekend.

Why Mudryk loan makes sense for all parties

Chelsea boss Alonso has already spoken about Mudryk, after he resumed training after a doping ban that kept him out since November 2024.

Speaking to the media earlier this month, he said: "He's a special player and it's a special ​case, so we need to be sensitive."

Leeds will hope that he can rediscover his best form after such a long time away from the game, and bring another element to their attack.

He managed to notch five Premier League goals and two assists in the 2023-24 campaign, and if he could recreate that in Yorkshire, it would be a solid return.

It is minimal risk for the Peacocks taking him on loan, and he will be very motivated to succeed if he makes the move.
