The permanent contract Lucas Perri has already agreed with Torino as Leeds loan exit nears

Lucas Perri finally looks to be heading out of Leeds United for Torino after weeks of reports.

The Brazilian goalkeeper has been linked with the Serie A club for most of the summer window, with Leeds first wanting James Trafford through the door.

An injury issue would later delay Perri's move to the Turin-based club, which then left the door open for Marseille to try to hijack that transfer.

However, Torino have renegotiated new terms with Leeds for Perri, putting his transfer back on track.

While Marseille were looking for a permanent deal, Torino have kept their offer as a loan with an option to buy.

Despite that only being an option to buy, it appears Perri has already pre-agreed the terms of a possible future permanent contract in Italy.

How long of a contract has Lucas Perri agreed to with Torino?

When Perri agreed to a four-year deal with Leeds in 2025, he expected to remain in England for the foreseeable future.

But, things simply have not worked out for the Whites shot-stopper, who is now on the verge of leaving.

It was not known where exactly that would be but Torino have seemingly won the race.

According to Valentin Feuillette of French outlet Foot Mercato, Torino have managed to "outmanoeuvre" Marseille due to the new terms presented.

While, it was already reported what the increased offer Torino sent Leeds was, it appears they also have sent one to Perri himself.

According to the report, Perri has pre-agreed to a three-year contract with an option for an additional year should Torino take up their buy-clause at the end of the 2026-2027 season.

It is said that was a key detail as Torino "convinced" Perri of the move.

Are pre-agreements typical in loan-to-buy deals?

Coming to terms on a pre-agreement is not unseen in the world of football, even if it is not a guarantee to become a permanent player at your loan club.

Although, they are not always part of the package agreed.

One of the biggest transfers involving this type of agreement took place last summer.

When Nicolas Jackson joined Bayern Munich on loan from Chelsea, he pre-agreed to a five-year contract despite it not being a guarantee he would remain in Germany.

Jackson has now returned to Chelsea, with Bayern Munich not going through with their option-to-buy.

With Leeds signing Trafford, they will certainly hope the same outcome does not happen with them.

And that at the end of the season, Perri will offically sign that already agreed three-year contract with Torino.
