Joe Gelhardt is set to complete his move from Leeds United to Hull City on Thursday, with fresh details now emerging on the deal.

The 24-year-old has spent the past 18 months on loan with Hull in the Championship.

After scoring 14 times in 39 appearances to help Hull to promotion last season, the Tigers made signing the forward permanently a priority.

Hull are now on the verge of making that happen, with a deal all but finalised.

Gelhardt will depart Elland Road having made 57 appearances at senior level and scoring three times.

With his exit locked in, Leeds fans have been informed exactly how much they will land from the latest exit this summer.

How much profit Leeds have made from Joe Gelhardt sale

Gelhardt's priority was always to join Hull this summer, regardless of interest from elsewhere such as Wrexham and Rangers.

The Athletic has now reported that the deal will officially go through at some stage on Thursday.

Gelhardt completed part of his medical on Wednesday and the second part will be done on Thursday, prior to the announcement.

A package worth £6.5million is said to have been agreed between the two clubs.

That means Leeds will be making a profit of £5m on the reported £1m they paid to Wigan Athletic for Gelhardt in 2020.

While that is not exactly an astronomical sum, it is still a good return on a player who last played for the Whites in October 2024.

The former England Under-20s international also had less than a year to run on his current deal at Elland Road.

Two more set to follow Gelhardt out Elland Road door

Speaking after Leeds' friendly with Manchester United on Wednesday, Daniel Farke spoke out on potential exits for three players.

Perri and Gelhardt are out of the picture, while Bornauw simply wants to start more regularly.

Fans are ager to see one or two more big-name players arrive, but these three exits seem more likely to go through first.

In the case of Gelhardt, he will leave with the best wishes of everyone at Elland Road.
