Daniel Farke opens door for three more Leeds exits, including starter vs Man Utd
Daniel Farke provided an update on Leeds United's outgoing transfer activity following the friendly with Manchester United.
Leeds played out a 1-1 draw with their bitter rivals at Croke Park in Dublin on Wednesday evening, before losing an exhibition penalty shootout.
Joshua Zirkzee opened the scoring for Man United after 16 minutes, but Brenden Aaronson levelled just before the half-hour mark.
Farke fielded a fairly strong starting line-up, although at least one of those who started the contest looks set to depart before the window closes.
While fans are fixated on who could still arrive at Elland Road, it is likely that more will be moving on than coming in over the next two weeks or so.
Work is continuing behind the scenes to move on certain players, even if Farke would selfishly prefer to keep some.
Daniel Farke provides clarity on Sebastiaan Bornauw's future
Sebastiaan Bornauw is one of those linked with a Leeds exit ahead of the deadline early next month.
The defender started the friendly with Man United, but Farke later all but confirmed he is likely to join Hamburg.
“If a player then also has his wish and wants perhaps something different and has behaved so professional like Seb has done, then we also take it into account," Farke said. We are in very open, honest discussions also with him.
“But how much I rate him, how much I wanted to sign him one year ago, because we just can't always just sign starters. We need to think about the whole group.
“Yes, if he is desperate to do something different, and you're just out of respect to him and what he has done so far - because he's always a top professional - we are also of course considering what he wants."
It is clear Farke would like to keep Bornauw, signed 12 months ago for £5million, as a rotation player at the back.
But after just 10 Premier League appearances last season, Bornauw clearly wants more regular football elsewhere.
Beyond the Belgium international, Farke also spoke out on the futures of two more exit-linked players.

Farke confirmed Joe Gelhardt is not part of Leeds' plans going forward, which has been clear for some time.
“Let's see what the next days will bring," Farke said. "But it could be that there is a solution also for him that is good for all parties. Then also fingers crossed for him for his career."
On goalkeeper Lucas Perri, who has been close to joining Torino for a while now, Farke confirmed talks are ongoing over his exit.
That could see three Leeds exits fairly imminently, likely before any new faces head the other way.
