Michael Zetterer's possible whereabouts revealed as Leeds United close in on next signing

Michael Zetterer looks set to become Leeds United's next signing this summer.

The Whites have been in the market for a number two ever since Karl Darlow decided to leave the club.

Ideally, Daniel Farke would have liked to have kept the veteran around, but the shot-stopper realised he would benefit more financially by moving to Manchester United, with his playing time virtually the same either way.

That said, Leeds have been vying to sign a deputy to club-record signing James Trafford, and look to have found their man in Zetterer.

The Eintracht Frankfurt keeper was not guaranteed to be getting minutes in Germany, and so a move to the Premier League appeared more appealing for him.

Now, Leeds could be very close to announcing the permanent arrival of Zetterer.

It has been reported that Zetterer is heading to Leeds to undergo his medical ahead of a permanent move.

This transfer will allow Lucas Perri to leave LS11, with the Brazilian expected to head to Italy to sign for Torino on an initial season-long loan, which includes a buy option for the Serie A club.

Flight number BNI5U, which is in association with a Cessna CitationJet/CJ1, operated by Bartolini Air has already jetted off from Frankfurt's airport in the south-west of Germany on Friday.

The flight is headed for Leeds-Bradford airport, with the duration of travel just under two hours.

It appears to be a very small aircraft, most likely not accessible for general members of the public, which means there is a good chance that Zetterer is onboard.

The 31-year-old could have his move confirmed by the Whites after final medical tests are complete, with the club's goalkeeping department all but completed for the new campaign.

How Leeds have cherry-picked Karl Darlow 2.0 in Zetterer

Leeds would have felt very secure with Darlow as their second-choice goalkeeper, given his performances in the second half of last season.

The former Newcastle United man made 22 appearances, made 63 saves and had a goals prevented record of minus 1.50.

Interestingly, Zetterer also played 22 games in the league and made 63 saves, with a goal prevented record of minus 1.34.

Perhaps the only difference is that Zetterer had a 14 per cent improved passing accuracy in total, not to mention the German connection he has with Farke.
