Michael Zetterer on his way to Leeds United for medical after Lucas Perri transfer latest

Michael Zetterer is set to join Leeds United with Lucas Perri heading out of Elland Road.

Leeds have been linked with Zetterer, 31, as Daniel Farke looks to sign a new second-choice goalkeeper.

While James Trafford has joined the Whites in a club-record deal, Illan Meslier and Karl Darlow have left the Yorkshire giants this summer and 28-year-old Perri is set to follow them through the exit door.

It's now been reported that with Perri closing in on a a move away, Eintracht Frankfurt shot-stopper Zetterer is heading to Leeds to undergo a medical.

Perri is set to join Serie A club Torino just one year after a £15million move to Leeds from Lyon, with some reports claiming that he's joining the Italians on a loan-to-buy basis.

As for Zetterer, the terms of his arrival at Leeds have become more clear.

The Yorkshire Post reported on Friday morning that Zetterer "is travelling for a medical" ahead of signing for Leeds.

Frankfurt are reportedly signing Noah Atubolu on loan from Freiburg, which means that Zetterer has been given permission to leave the Bundesliga club.

Sky Sports Germany journalist Florian Plettenberg also reported on Friday that Zetterer is expected to join the Whites on a permanent basis.

It seems that while the ex-Werder Bremen goalkeeper is on his way to England, an agreement is yet to be done between Leeds and Frankfurt.

Both clubs, however, must feel that they'll shake hands soon.

With Trafford already impressing Leeds fans with his performances in the number one spot and Zetterer coming in to serve as a back-up option, Farke should be pleased with his options in between the sticks.

Although we wouldn't expect to see him play, Alex Cairns is also on board to serve as Leeds' reserve goalkeeper option, should Trafford or Zetterer suffer an injury, illness or suspension over the new camapign.

In Zetterer, Leeds are signing an experienced pair of hands.

He's made 85 appearances in the Bundesliga throughout his career, and also spent a season in the Dutch Eredivisie with PEC Zwolle, where he played 32 times.

The Munich-born keeper also has played in the Champions League and made 28 appearances for Frankfurt last term, so he's definitely up for the job as being the No 2 at Elland Road.
