Leeds United could be willing to backtrack on last summer's transfer policy under Daniel Farke to land Fulham's Harry Wilson.

The Wales international is set to leave the Cottagers once his contract expires later this month, with several Premier League sides interested in his signature.

The final decider in the 29-year-old's future appears to be the exit of Fulham's head coach, Marco Silva, with whom the player had a very close relationship.

Paraag Marathe and Co. understand that the free agent market may need to be utilised this summer like it was 12 months ago, only this time, the Whites hope to go one better.

Though there are clear restrictions that prevent the Whites from operating how they wish as a Premier League side for at least another two seasons, Farke remains specific on his wants and needs.

However, this could change given the chase for Wilson, with Leeds hopeful to finally land the right-winger.

Harry Wilson signing would go against the grain for Daniel Farke

The Whites dug deep in the free agent market last summer, signing a 26-year-old Lukas Nmecha and a 28-year-old Dominic Calvert-Lewin.

Farke's preference was for Leeds to sign players of height and individuals who are approaching their peak years in football, according to Leeds Live.

Wilson is 5,8" and would instantly become one of the smallest players in the Leeds dressing room should he sign for the Whites.

It's not known if Farke would be fully lenient on bending this specific criterion this summer, but given the scouting of Wilson and a 30-year-old Julian Brandt at that, it could be the case.

What would Wilson add at Elland Road?

While a slight change in the transfer policy may be needed for Wilson, it's clear to see why he would be an exception to the rules.

The Welsh international is an expert set-piece taker and can often create a moment of magic out of nothing, something which Leeds lack in individuals sometimes.

He scored 10 Premier League goals last season, three of which were outside the box, as he also racked up several assists from set-piece scenarios.

It's already been reported that Farke wants to sign a left-footed forward who can cut in and shoot, so this is a criterion that Wilson fits.
