Leeds United transfer round-up: Celtic twist, Cameron Archer deal latest
Leeds United have just days remaining until the 3 February deadline and now will look to complete some late business in the winter window.
It’s a positive time for Daniel Farke and his side, who currently sit top of the Championship and are coming off the back of a 7-0 win against Cardiff City.
That hasn’t stopped the Whites show an interest in completing some winter business at Elland Road despite being yet to do so.
With deadline day fast approaching, MOT Leeds News has rounded up all the news from 1 February.
Leeds United want ‘domino effect’ to trigger Cameron Archer deal
Farke’s side are hopeful that Premier League transfers will allow Southampton to strengthen their front line, causing a “domino effect” in the coming days [Graham Smyth].
The Whites will hope this will soften the Saints’ reluctance to sign the striker after an initial loan approach was rejected on Thursday (30 January) [Alex Crook].
Leeds United suffer ‘massive’ loss with Sonny Perkins deal
Leeds have accepted a “massive loss” on Sonny Perkins after his permanent switch to Leyton Orient was confirmed [Sean Whetstone].
Considering a fee of £2million was paid to West Ham via tribunal in 2022, the 20-year-old has now been sold for a fraction of that price.
A “substantial” sell-on clause is said to be included in his latest move but there is every chance that won’t be realised in the future.

Celtic enter race for Kelechi Iheanacho
Farke’s side have been linked with Kelechi Iheanacho, who has fallen out of favour with Sevilla since joining in the summer [SCORENigeria, 23 January].
Now Scottish Premiership champions Celtic have shown an interest in the Nigeria international with a loan deal and a potential option to buy discussed in a transfer twist [Ben Jacobs].
In other Leeds United news, the Cardiff City coach had a howler as a fine was dished out before their Elland Road defeat.
